Phishing Attacks

Almost all of the data breaches that JDA has responded to within the past few years have had a phishing or spear phishing component to it. Phishing is the act of sending an unaware victim an email that appears to be from a group or person that they recognize with a Trojan horse attachment. When the victim opens the attachment (usually a PDF, Power Point or executable program) the victim's computer is infected and the attacker proceeds to download further hacking tools and attack the rest of the network. Preventing phishing takes a series of IT solutions and aggressive training of corporate computer users.
